I want to live more green, I was raised with most of these things in practice. My parents did most of this because it was cheaper. My mother was a big fan of "just go put on a sweater". I now live in a house that was built with leftover lumber and tries its best to be low-impact. I want to build my own place someday (soon!). This is what I want: http://www.simondale.net/house/index.htm I can now be a hobbit. Hobbits live pretty green, they ate local produce, didn't drive, their houses were the difinition of low impact.......I think Thoreau would have loved the Hobbits.

very readable.
It could be that I also come to all of this genetically. A great, great, great, great, great (I don't know how many)Uncle was a contemporary of Thoreau. He also gave it all up to live in the woods.
I find it very interesting that I was raised in the city and lived in a city up until fairly recently. But the minute I left I found the quiet that I have been seeking. I don't like big urban spaces for more than a few minutes, I hate the mall, even Costco makes me kind of dizzy. Most of the men I know find it interesting that I hate shopping. (Because women as supposed to love shoes and shopping.....how sexist). Anyway before I come off sounding arrogant or self-important I will stop writing.
To quote Lloyd Dobler "I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that."
